Shear Aligning Magnalocks (SAM) :
SAM, the Shear Aligning Magnalock provides 1,200 pounds holding force and
mounts fully concealed in wood, steel or aluminum doors. Concealed mounting is extremely pertinent to both higher security and an aesthetic finished appearance. The lock is mortised into the frame, and the strike is mortised into the door. SAM can also be installed in any position on the door—top, side or bottom. It is ideal for swing-through and sliding doors because of its unique, highly
engineered design. Additionally, the SAM can be installed in any position on the door—top, side, or bottom. Templates are available to door manufacturers for door and frame preparation prior to installation. The SAM is ideal for swing-through doors and sliding doors as well. A unique benefit of the SAM’s physical design is that it functions equally well on doors that swing to close or doors that slide to close. A traditional magnetic lock secures a door by preventing the strike from being pulled away from the magnet body. A shear
lock prevents the strike from being pulled across the magnet body.
