The
variable speed swing gate operator shall be Model VS-GSWG as manufactured
by Operator Specialty Company, Inc. (OSCO). |
CABINET: The unit shall be enclosed in a powder coated heavy-duty galvannealed steel, weather-resistant, all-welded enclosure. Cabinet door shall be hinged, gasketed and key lockable. The housing shall be large enough to contain control panel and any additional accessories, such as loop detectors, timers, etc. MECHANICAL: The unit shall utilize a right-angle gear reducer. Gears shall consist of a hardened-steel machine-cut worm and mating bronze gear running in oil. Bearings shall be heavy-duty pillow block type. Operator shall be equipped with an adjustable torque limiter. ELECTRICAL: The motor shall be a minimum 1/2 HP industrial continuous-duty three phase 56 frame. An inverter motor control provides soft start/soft stop programming. The voltage and phase of the input power supply is required at the time of order. Motor overload protection shall be provided internal to the motor or in the starter. Limit
switches shall be rotary type to limit travel between full open and
the fully closed positions and for soft start/soft stop. Limit switches
shall be precision type and adjustable. A three-button control marked
OPEN-CLOSE-STOP shall be provided. |
VARIABLE SPEED LINEAR DRIVE: Arm connecting to gate shall utilize a soft start/soft stop linear action. Linear action shall be accomplished by a sprocket driving a roller chain attached to each end of the arm. MOUNTING: Unit shall be mounted on two 3" to 3 1/2" OD posts embedded in concrete. Pad mounting is optional. APPLICATIONS: All OSCO operators are designed for vehicular use only. A separate manual walk gate must be provided adjacent for any non-vehicular traffic such as bicycles and pedestrians. Electrical: • Variable speed - soft start/soft

 Automatic
Gates are not for Pedestrians! Automatic gate operators are designed for vehicular traffic only. They are powerful, and can cause serious injury or death. Accordingly, direct all pedestrian traffic to a separate pedestrian gate. UL325 requires the use of contact or non-contact anti-entrapment devices. | |||||||||||
