Specifications:
The variable speed slide gate operator
shall be model VS-GSLG as manufactured by Operator Specialty Company,
Inc. (OSCO).
Cabinet: The unit shall be enclosed in a powder coated heavy-duty
galvannealed steel, weather-resistant, all-welded enclosure. Cabinet
door shall be hinged, gasketed and key lockable. the housing shall
be large enough to contain control panel and any additional accessories,
such as loop detectors, timers, etc.
Mechanical: The unit shall utilize a right-angle gearhead
speed reducer. Gears shall consist of a hardened-steel machine-cut
worm and mating bronze gear running in oil. Bearings shall be heavy-duty
pillow block type. Operator shall have a lever-type disconnect which
when used will allow the gate to be operated manually. A maximum run
timer shall be furnished to protect clutch from burnout should gate
be obstructed. After maximum run timer expires, timer will turn motor
off. Built-in magnetic brake shall be furnished to prevent coasting
of gate. Drive chain shall be minimum #50 roller chain.
Electrical:
The motor shall be a minimum 1/2 HP industrial continuous-duty
three phase 56 frame. An inverter motor control provides soft start/soft
stop programming. The voltage and phase of the input power supply
is required at the time of order. Motor overload protection shall
be provided internal to the motor or in the starter. Limit switches
shall be rotary type to limit travel between full open the fully
closed positions and for soft start/soft stop. Limit switches shall
be precision type and adjustable. A three button control marked
OPEN-CLOSED-STOP shall be provided.
Mounting: Unit shall be mounted
on two 3" to 3 1/2" OD posts embedded in concrete. Pad
mounting is optional.
Applications: All OSCO operators
are designed for vehicular use only. A separate manual walk gate
must be provided adjacent for any non-vehicular traffic such as
bicycles and pedestrians.
